Mastodon - The Hunter (2011)

Without a doubt, one of the most anticipated rock/metal albums this year was Mastodon's Hunter. And the men of Mastodon do not disappoint. The band has further evolved by adding even more of a 70s progressive rock sound and improved vocal melodies as hinted on their previous opus Crack The Skye. While definitely not as raw and sludgy as their debut, it still manages to sound heavy as fuck. Get your copy today.

Brann Dailor - Drums and Vocals
Brent Hinds - Guitar and Vocals
Bill Kelliher - Guitar
Troy Sanders - Bass and Vocals

I was waiting to listen to it enough times to get an opinion, it's done. Very disapointed by this album: ugliest cover of the year, sounding more than an heavy metal radio friendly like in the 80's, no more high energy excited tracks, well I hardly recognize Mastodon here and I don't want to waste time anymore.
Biggest deception of the year. And bigger when I think this comes from Mastodon...
